What is Important October 1, 2007 There are about one million things that I hope to accomplish. I am the type of person that likes to put a little bit of everything on his or her plate. An interest sparks an idea in my head and I'm off to start something new. Unfortunately, when I don't plan out my course of action, my aspirations continue to remain unfinished and I sit in the status quo. I am beginning to realize that if I don't commit to something and make room for it, it just won't happen. Let me help you as I help myself learn how to focus on what I find important. You are not perfect and cannot do everything. No matter who you are time will not stop to let you catch up on what you've missed or advance in what you would like to do. The good news is, however, that you don't need to do everything. That is quite a relief in the progress-based society we live in today. It's okay to not get around to everything. I still have trouble with this as I try to be perfect though I most certainly am not. When you have too much on your list to do then the individual tasks may be done poorly. Also, a list of too many things to do will take away from your free time to simply live. It is important to achieve things with your life but it is even more important to live fully by giving to others in any way possible. That balance is what one aspires to achieve, the balance between your own success and the joy that you can give to others. It is much less important to collect things and gain success for yourself because in a day all of that can be gone. Though gaining success does play a role in life, it should not be one's sole aim. Instead, it is much greater if one puts giving to others as his or her sole aim. Giving as much as one can is the most important thing of all. To an extent, you need success yourself so that you have a capacity to give. Don't hoard up success for yourself if you are lucky enough to have it but share it with everyone. Success is partly luck because it is brought on in the right circumstances that are out of one's control. Yet by acting in a certain way it is possible to bring those circumstances to yourself. That certain way is love. If you love than things will be brought to you. Maybe some material wealth will come, maybe not. That is not important. What's important is that you are giving out love and if good things can come to you in any capacity then they will. Put LOVE at the center of your life and let the details take care of themselves.
